Boston Chocolate Walking Tours seeks an office superstar!

Do you have managerial experience, and are you a proactive people-person, with a positive attitude, who is also detail-focused and highly organized? 

Are you an energetic go-getter who loves working with a sense of urgency?

Do you love the hospitality industry and making people happy every day?

Are you the right person to:

  • manage a busy, upbeat office and maintain productivity
  • oversee the schedule
  • take care of customers
  • communicate with partner stores
  • oversee the team
  • liaise with charity partners
  • book new business
  • handle other initiatives that arise

And: must love chocolate!

Terms:

You'd be an independent contractor with a flexible schedule, and some work can be done from home. Possibility for advancement within the company.

Calling all actors: get paid to eat chocolate!

 

What: Boston Chocolate Walking Tours is looking for energetic and outgoing people to join our fun team. Lead tours to Boston's best chocolate shops and bakeries, and get paid $40 per tour plus tips and bonuses.

When: You'll have a flexible part-time schedule as an independent contractor, and you'll choose which dates you want to work. Private and public tours run weekdays and weekends, and our public tour schedule is at www.bostonchocolatewalkingtours.com. 

Skills: You have style and an attractive image, love chocolate and love people, and can memorize scripts and information quickly. You can perform with pep and enthusiasm, and are outgoing, with no stage fright.

3. Interns: PR/Marketing and Charitable Donations, and Business

 

Boston Chocolate Walking Tours seeks a college student or other ambitious individual to help a busy, growing, fun company with marketing and media outreach, as well as with support of our charity partners and other philanthropic organizations. Or, to work on business development and professional networking. Work with an energetic team, and be mentored by the founder, a Harvard College and Harvard Law School grad. This is an unpaid internship with flexible hours (and free chocolate). Some work can be done from home. College credit if your college allows it. Room for advancement to paid roles within the company. (And did we mention free chocolate.)

You:

  • Love chocolate.
  • Love people and work well with a fun team.
  • Have experience or interest in PR and marketing.
  • Have experience or interest in office skills such as Word, Excel, and proper phone and email communication.
  • Believe in our charitable mission of Uplift Through Chocolate.

 

Work includes:

  • Liaise with our local charity partner Room to Grow.
  • Help market our tours and special events through the media, blogs, Facebook, and other means.
  • Write press releases.
  • Research market segments.
  • Respond to requests from charities for gift certificate donations.
  • Help work with our charity partners on special events.
  • On the business development side: reach out to groups to book group tours.
  • Room for advancement: for the right person, this can lead to a paid role in Boston or in one of our other cities.

4. Business Development Manager

Boston Chocolate Walking Tours seeks someone with sales and marketing experience, who would like to sell "the sweetest tours in town!"

Do you love chocolate, and love people? Are you highly motivated? Are you excited about working in the tourism and hospitality industry and making people happy every day? Our entrepreneurial team is looking for YOU!

You'll oversee other marketing team members, and report directly to our president.

Objectives:

  • Handle inbound sales, when groups contact us to inquire about tours.
  • Handle outbound sales, by reaching out to our lists of prospects, and generating new lists of prospects, to invite them to book chocolate tours.
  • Contact at least 100 people per week, and as momentum builds start booking 2 tours per week, then 5, and then 10.
  • Meet weekly to go over lists of people contacted, results, and next steps.

You:

  • Love chocolate.
  • Love people.
  • Have great phone and email skills.
  • Are self-motivated and also work well with a warm, fun, professional team.
  • Are highly organized.
  • Have a positive attitude.
  • Are an Independent Contractor and can set your own flexible hours.

Terms: For outbound work, receive a 15% commission on tours booked (and lots of chocolate of course). You'd be an independent contractor with a flexible schedule, and some work can be done from home.

Additional avenues of income: sell our Chicago and Philadelphia tours too.
